The Best Part of the Crawfish Festival
What a fun and unique race! By combining two awesome gatherings – the annual Tualatin Crawfish Festival and the Crawfish Crawl 5k/10k/Half Marathon, I had the opportunity to walk with two friends in the fast, all paved (no cars) bike path course, over a river in the lush, green Tualatin Park. Though it was a very warm day, I was welcomed on course with the greatest and most generous water stops I’ve ever seen for a race! It was a hilarious, fun time to watch “Dorothy” from the Wizard of Oz, as well as a 6 foot red Crawfish and other costumed runners and walkers speedily traverse the course. I heard that next year’s race will be starting earlier to avoid the summer heat. My friends and I can’t wait! We also loved the pre-race pancake breakfast put on by the Crawfish Festival, rocking music on stage, and huge, very cool design Crawfish race medals!
